We are thrilled to be partnering with Schoola, a website that offers communities an easy, fun way of giving back to their local public schools. Schoola recently launched in New York City and we are proud to be offering a special Schoola voucher to local parents, teachers and school supporters. Visit their website to purchase the Magnolia Bakery voucher and we’ll donate 35% to the public school of your choice.
On Monday, we were lucky enough to visit a local school participating in the Schoola fundraising program: Harbor Science & Arts Charter School (K-8), located on the UWS of Manhattan. During our visit, Bobbie Lloyd, Magnolia Bakery’s President and “Chief Baking Officer,” was interviewed by “Live from the Couch” and we handed out cupcakes to one of Harbor’s kindergarten classes (they were very patient waiting for their cupcakes!). Thanks so much for having us!
Be sure to visit Schoola.com to find different businesses in your neighborhood participating in this wonderful program!
One of our favorite things about the year coming to a close are all of the “Year in Review” stories – it’s so interesting to look back on the year’s most memorable moments. What are some of your favorite moments from 2012?
Of course, it’s only natural that we also take a moment to reflect back on all that our team and patrons have helped us accomplish in 2012. It’s been a big year for us and we couldn’t have done it without such a wonderful team and loyal customers!
Here’s a look back on some of our favorite moments:
Wishing all of you a wonderful 2013!
We are very excited to announce the opening of our newest store, located in the Al Hamra Tower in Kuwait City! Bobbie Lloyd, Magnolia’s President and “Chief Baking Officer” and Chef Kiran Shetty, Magnolia Bakery’s Executive Pastry Chef, Middle East, as well teammates Abigail Joslyn, Sumaya Jackson, Lilly Catalan, Lujain Fulaij, Dana Al Salem and Amer Bakri were on hand to teach the Kuwait team how to create our signature swirl, bake our variety of handmade desserts and host a wonderful VIP event. Take a look at some of our favorite pictures below. Enjoy and we hope to see you there very soon!
At Magnolia Bakery, our philanthropic efforts are guided by the notion that charity begins at home and then extends to the global community. With that in mind, we work closely with community organizations, including local schools, hospitals and food pantries, to support a variety of causes. Yesterday, we had the pleasure of working with Yankee’s pitcher Carsten Charles “CC” Sabathia and his wife Amber, whose PitCCh ln Foundation enriches the lives of inner city’s youth. Since its launch in 2009, the Foundation has developed a number of influential programs, including The All-Star Baseball Clinic and The Backpack Program, a program that provided more than 10,000 backpacks to students in Vallejo, CA and Bronx, NY last year.
Our Bloomingdale’s team, including general manager Erick Larios, pictured below, provided desserts for PitCCh In’s holiday party for the Madison Boys and Girls Club, held at the MLB Fan Cave. We hope everyone enjoyed the event as much as we did! Happy holidays!
